Why do we like listening to music?

Do we listen to music differently in different stages of our lives?  Do we find some songs more gratifying than others in different times in our lives? Why do some songs make us feel good inside and others are just... just alright. Is it the wave frequency or is it that we relate to the lyrics? I, personally, know that I am not drawn to the words, sure it's great when the songs connect to your feelings and thoughts, but that is not my top requirement when choosing which songs I like or I should say which songs pull me in. I don't feel I choose them. They automatically get replayed and eventually given the title (at least in my head if I don't share them with anyone) that this song is goood.  My taste of music is different than what most people around me like. It is a personal thing. Most of the time I listen to music either on my earphones or in my car, sometimes there are others around me where in that case I listen to different genres usually something more upbeat. Most d...

Baking Design

So I keep telling myself that I love design and yet I keep procrastinating about doing anything related to it. Yes, I gave excuses--that usually revolved around exhaustion--so my days went by each day watching TRUE BLOOD...which is soo addictive!! I watched three seasons in nine days and I only stopped because I didn't have anymore!!

Nonetheless, the day I finished with True Blood I got back to doing something productive. I started oil painting--I'm working on that sea/sailing boat on two canvases that I talked about before on this blog. I only started it, so I do still have a long way to go.

Then finally I went back to the kitchen to put my hands into some cookie dough. I thought to myself, last time I was in the kitchen I made chocolate chip cookies from a box and I usually don't do that (it was a first timer for me)! So I told myself I'm gonna make it harder on myself this time and so I decided to make sugar cookies shaped as watermelons. Then I added stars and then smilies.

So there I was with perfectly colored watermelons, purple and pink stars and colored smilies. They turned out amazing! And yes the coloring in them is safe--I looked it up and supposedly its natural. I used a good brand named Wilton--the color comes out exactly the way it shows on the container. I didn't use the CMYK colors. I even had black. I used these: http://www.wilton.com/store/site/product.cfm?id=3e30b2d9-475a-bac0-5d5c3db846dfd354.

Anyway here are some pictures below while I was making them (yeah I made a mess):

After a very long time...finally baked:

As for the sugar cookie recipe you can check it out at: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/delilahs-frosted-cut-out-sugar-cookies/detail.aspx I keep using this recipe over and over and keep recommending it to everyone.
