Why do we like listening to music?

Do we listen to music differently in different stages of our lives?  Do we find some songs more gratifying than others in different times in our lives? Why do some songs make us feel good inside and others are just... just alright. Is it the wave frequency or is it that we relate to the lyrics? I, personally, know that I am not drawn to the words, sure it's great when the songs connect to your feelings and thoughts, but that is not my top requirement when choosing which songs I like or I should say which songs pull me in. I don't feel I choose them. They automatically get replayed and eventually given the title (at least in my head if I don't share them with anyone) that this song is goood.  My taste of music is different than what most people around me like. It is a personal thing. Most of the time I listen to music either on my earphones or in my car, sometimes there are others around me where in that case I listen to different genres usually something more upbeat. Most d

What used to be a factory...

Now how cool is this??!!! I would of never thought of turning a factory into a house...its so creative.

The project below, The Cement Factory, is a place Ricardo Bofill discovered in 1973. The factory was part of an industrial complex from the turn of the century, comprising over 30 silos, underground galleries and huge engine rooms. Remodeling work lasted two years. The factory, abandoned and partially in ruins, was a compendium of surrealist elements—stairs that climbed up to nowhere, mighty reinforced concrete structures that sustained nothing, pieces of iron hanging in the air; in short, huge empty spaces filled nonetheless with magic. The complex stands in the midst of gardens of eucalyptus, palms, olive trees and cypresses. It also features Ricardo Bofill’s house and guest rooms.

Geometric Furniture and Designs

Today's post was inspired from octagonal and hexagonal furniture pieces and my intention was to write a full blog post about only those two shapes, but once I did my search about them I found them quiet boring honestly and therefore this post has become broader to include all shapes and polygons! I think shapes (within design) amuse me more than detailed art and decor does....hmmm.
